NetMotion Wireless Licenses FIPS 140-2 Certified Cryptographic Module

New version of Mobility XE incorporating modules announced for release in the third quarter of 2005

Seattle, WA—June 6, 2005—NetMotion Wireless, the industry-leading provider of mobility management solutions, announced today that it has licensed FIPS 140-2 certified cryptographic modules from F-Secure Corporation. The modules will be incorporated into NetMotion Wireless' award-winning Mobility XE product in a version planned for release in the third quarter of 2005. The new version of Mobility XE with the cryptographic libraries will allow customers to meet requirements for purchasing and operating FIPS 140-2 certified encryption products.

"FIPS 140-2 compliance is important to many of our customers and partners," said Andy Willett, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Business Development at NetMotion Wireless. "The modules we licensed from F-Secure will allow us to quickly meet our customers' needs and continue our industry leadership."

In addition to 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), which the Mobility product has supported since 2001, the new version of Mobility XE will include support for AES encryption in 192-bit and 256-bit strengths. For these new encryption strengths, the product will also increase the corresponding ECDH (Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman) curves as recommended by NIST in FIPS PUB 186-2, "Digital Signature Standard."

Software incorporating the FIPS 140-2 certified libraries and increased encryption and key strength will be supported on the Mobility XE server for the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 operating systems, and on the Mobility XE client for Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Mobile 4.2 (ARM), including Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs.

About FIPS 140-2

FIPS PUB 140-2 (the Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 140-2) is a standard that defines U.S. government security requirements for cryptographic modules. When choosing data security or cryptography-related products, U.S. and Canadian federal government organizations are advised by NIST/CSE (National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States of America / the Communications Security Establishment of the Government of Canada) to consider only products that are FIPS 140-2 validated.
