Technical Note 2158

Last Reviewed 14-Nov-2005
Applies To

NetMotion Mobility, version 4.0 and higher
 Printer-friendly version

Summary

There are advanced settings available for both the Mobility client and server. They rarely need to be modified, but if you are asked to display them by technical support, this technical note explains how to do so.

Very important: Do not change advanced settings unless you are instructed to do so by NetMotion Wireless technical support, or by another technical note.

Advanced Server Settings

  1. Open the Mobility console and go to the Server Settings page.

  2. Append "?advanced=1" to the URL. For example, the URL would now look something like this:

  3. Beneath the list of settings, select the check box Show Advanced Settings.

Advanced Client Settings

  1. Open the Mobility console and go to the Client Settings page.

  2. Append "?advanced=1" to the URL. For example, the URL would now look something like this:

  3. Beneath the list of settings, select the check box Show Advanced Settings.

Advanced Policy Settings

  3. Go to the Policy Management page.

  4. Click Add to specify a new rule, or Edit an existing rule.

  5. Select the Show Advanced Settings check box at the bottom of the page for any or all of the pages in the Policy Management configuration process (conditions, targets, and actions).

Mobility 5.01 and Earlier

  1. Open the server's NetMotion Configuration Manager with the "-cNMADVANCED" switch using either of the following methods:

    • From a command line...

      cd \Program Files\NetMotion Server\nmcfgapp.exe -cNMADVANCED

    • By editing the shortcut's Properties...

      "C:\Program Files\NetMotion Server\nmcfgapp.exe" -cNMADVANCED

  2. The advanced settings are now available on the Custom settings tab.
